You bring the location.
I’ll bring the meaning.

The Destination Wedding package ~ from $2500
Getting married somewhere beautiful is easy.
Creating a ceremony that actually feels like you - thoughtful, personal, and genuinely memorable is where I come in.
I work with couples across New Zealand and overseas to create ceremonies that are relaxed, modern, and completely tailored to who you are and what matters most to you.
Whether you’re standing on a beach in Fiji, a clifftop in Bali, or in beautiful Rarotonga, your ceremony should feel special, real, and entirely yours.
How it works
There are two ways to approach a destination wedding:
1. Legal ceremony in New Zealand + ceremony overseas
Many couples choose to complete the legal paperwork at home, then have a fully personalised ceremony overseas.
This gives you complete freedom and removes any legal complexity.
2. Legal ceremony overseas + personalised ceremony with me
In most destinations, a local officiant completes the legal component, and I lead your full ceremony experience for you and your guests.
Either way, you get a ceremony that feels like you - not something off the shelf!
This package includes:
-
An initial consultation to get to know one another and understand/discuss what your vision is for your wedding ceremony
-
A bespoke ceremony specifically designed for the two of you
-
Planning sessions to get to know you and shape your ceremony
-
Guidance and support with your vows
-
Coordination with your planner or venue
-
Travel to your destination
-
Rehearsal (depending on your plans)
-
Access to my library of resources (readings, poems, and other components of your ceremony), along with helping with your vows
-
Some homework for you both in the form of a questionnaire - this helps me craft your ceremony details.
-
Emails, calls, advice, support, recommendations - I have done this over 200 times!
Legal requirements (what you need to know)
Planning a legal wedding overseas can come with a few extra steps and these vary depending on the country.
In many popular destinations, there are requirements such as:
-
Being in the country several days before your wedding
-
Providing documentation in advance (often translated and certified)
-
Attending appointments with local authorities prior to your ceremony
-
Participating in a religious ceremony in order for the marriage to be legally recognised
For example:
-
In Fiji, couples are typically required to be in the country at least 2–3 working days prior to the wedding to complete documentation
-
In Rarotonga, couples usually need to arrive at least 3 working days prior to apply for and obtain their marriage licence locally
-
In Indonesia (including Bali), couples must meet religious requirements and provide extensive paperwork in advance
These requirements are very manageable with the right support, but they do add time, complexity, and pressure to your travel plans.
The simplest option
Many couples choose to complete their legal ceremony in New Zealand before travelling. This means:
-
No waiting periods or appointments overseas
-
No additional paperwork while you’re away
-
No restrictions on how your ceremony is delivered
And most importantly, when you arrive at your destination, your ceremony can be entirely focused on the experience, not the logistics.
Optional: Legal ceremony in Christchurch
If you’re based locally, I can also take care of your legal ceremony here in Christchurch prior to your destination wedding.
Simple, relaxed, and taken care of, so when you head away, all you need to focus on is being present and enjoying it.
Investment
Destination ceremonies typically range from $2,500 – $4,500+, depending on location and travel. I always provide a clear, tailored quote so you know exactly what to expect.
